I’ve been doing the words thing for a number of years. I like to think I’m reasonably good at it. Here are a few things I’m proud of.

Here’s a profile I did of electro hip-hop outfit Sonnymoon for issue 54 of the Paste mPlayer. You have to be a subscriber of their digital product to be able to read it where it appeared, but here’s the text.

I also did a profile of Athens, Ga.-bred rockers Ponderosa for Paste that appeared in mPlayer issue 55. Text here.

Here’s an infographic that I created in conjunction with Paste‘s graphic designer, Laura Medina, to figure out which geographical locations get the most frequent shoutouts in rap music. I also compiled the playlist that appears below it with geographically-themed rap songs.

I also spent some time writing for Shakefire.com. Here’s a review of French film The Beautiful Person. I also did reviews of Linda Perry’s latest side project and 2011’s Martha Marcy May Marlene.
